Still Billy is the high point here cause since he seems like the only one having some fun. I finished this late last night, a bit past bedtime.

I loved to be back in the world Michael Scott created! It made me remember how much I love Scathach. And, like good novella’s do, t gave me more background about some characters in the series, and I love that! I feel like rereading this series now! Mayby next year, let me first reread Harry Potter. Sep 02, Christine rated it it was amazing. The American immortal shrugged. I am most definitely not your type of girl.
Feb 09, Skip rated it liked it Shelves: Better than most novella. An old friend and lover calls in a favor, asking Scathach to rescue him from vampyres and worse. Billy decides to tag along, out of chivalry and stubbornness despite the high probability of death. Turns out the ex-lover was trained to kill by Scathach and that both Scathach and her sister Aoife fell in love with him.
In the end, a bond develops between Scat Better than most novella.
In the end, a bond develops between Scathach and Billy the Kid. They are vampyrds good characters, and this short story provides some additional insight into their lives and personalities. Oh it turned out Billy the Kid and Scathach knew each other, and even had an adventure together.
Quite fair I think this short story is even better than the main stories.
Maybe because it’s short, since I found the 5 books of this series sometime lengthy. And I also like Billy more, as he didn’t seem to be a bad guy. Ik hoop dat er een spin-off serie komt want dit was niet genoeg. Ik wil veel meer, prequels en sequels.
Tge 04, Patrick added it. Billy was in the middle of fighting off vampyres while Scathach climbed up the side of the building. Billy’s clothes got ripped to shreds because of the vampyres’ long nails and sharp teeth. Scathach figured out that the whole thing was a trap once she smelled the Morrigan. The person she was rescuing ended up being the bad guy. The author did this to add a plot twist and surprise readers.
I liked how he did this. It made it interesting to continue reading. Sep 12, Cherie rated it it vfgas amazing Shelves: This was a great “short” story! If you’re familiar with the series, this is a must-read companion.

Jan 07, Clinton Harding rated it liked ths. Scott treats us to another side-story from his Flamel series of books. This time the short story concerns Bill the Kid, an immortal in the Flamel series, or it should concern Billy. I would say ” His character acts the same as we’re used him being in the series.
Billy the Kid and the Vampyres of Vegas
He’s an anti-hero, he works for the Dark Elders but readers get the vampydes that he has a moral compass and values that steer him his actions. At some point I expect him to fl Scott treats us to another side-story from his Flamel series of books. At some point I expect him to flip sides, but that’s not the point.
In this short story Billy is sent on an errand for his Dark Elder master and get thrown into a Scathach adventure. The package Billy is delivering is sinister in nature and his Dark Elder master has some evil motives for vegqs it up to Cegas, however, the package is not the center of the conflict, only a means to get Billy hooked up with Scatty. And because Billy is not a villain, just a misbegotten dis-placed outlaw, he tags along on Scatty’s adventure to lend a hand albeit he knows its dangerous.
Effectively, his anti-hero image is solidified here. I won’t spoil the plot but suffice it to say vampyres–the blood drinkers spell their name with a y and not an i, unlike the vegetarian variety–are involved as is a person from Scatty’s past. Vampyres are only an obstacle to overcome, though. And because this is Scatty’s adventure and it’s her past coming to haunt, it’s really her story. Billy is a sidekick. Which is the problem I kiid. The story bilpy to be about Billy, it needed to flesh out his character.
This does not happen. We learn more about Scatty than anything. For the fact that Scatty does what she does best, and that is she kicks butt, and we learn more about her and some of the motives that drive her isolation and attitude, I find the story a good one. This story is also meant as simply a short treat qnd fans.
However short or not, it fails in its title’s promise For that reason, the story is OK and not great. Still a fun read, lots of action and Scatty fun, Billy is a cool character too if a one dimensional one. Mar 12, Daphne Illumicrate rated it really liked it Shelves: I’ve always enjoyed novellas, especially those that give vamypres more information on the characters we’ve come to know and love.

Sent on an errand by his Elder master Queztalcoatl to deliver something to the Shadow, the Kid’s curiosity and good manners gets the better of him as he ends up accompanying Scathach to Vegas after she receives a mysterious phonecall for help. Like the rest of the series, there is a blend of seamless myth weaving and action-adventure that I’ve come to know and love from Michael Scott. In this short novella, I encountered ancient weaponry, learned the difference between Vampyres and Vampires only the ones with a ‘y’ ans blood-drinkersand met a legend thought to be dead.
There was also a lot of character development in kud short space of time and it made me like both characters a little better. I would recommend the novella to all fans of the series that need a little something to tide them over before the final book comes out ghe this year! Apr 07, Alyssa Nelson rated it really liked it Shelves: It follows Scathach and Billy the Kid on a short adventure that takes them to Vegas where they battle with Vampyres.
I was surprised by how much extra information Scott was able to pack in these few pages, while also creating appropriate tension and conflict. It iblly nice to get a bit of a kud from the main plot, and I loved being able to learn more about Billy the Kid. I definitely recommend this for fans of the series!
