I’m hoping that some playtesting will provide better insight. Off the top of my head, blood transfusion, partial polymorph spell, blessing from a the creature to the pregnant mother, or a special pool, fountain, door, or other magical thing that two creatures could go through to become one.

I’ve actually been using this e&d, still new to formatting on the homebrewery though so its been a proccess. It doesn’t have to be perfect or balanced but it must be complete enough that it can be used as is. Each half-bred race introduced by the book has an introduction which explains why or how the half-bred race came into being divine magic, polymorph spell, sexual compatibility, etca nicely written description which accompanies excellent artwork for eachplenty of information on the racial demeanor, typical backgrounds bastard members of the race and their role as adventurers.

These feats and prestige classes are undeniably best suited to half-breeds. The summary tables at the back and the high Effective Levels are just two symptoms of this. This subreddit aims to be a repository of homebrew. It’s a bit like the issue for the fey ancestry, I imagine, which is particularly tricky for both being a lore-trait “originates from fey” as well as an additional ability on what might already be a long list. We want this to be the place where a DM can go bastrds before playing and find something that will be useful.
Buy the book for the specific half-breeds, the templates, the new magic rules, prestige classes and feats — but not for the making your own half-breed rules. The premise is simple; you have to have the right heritage to cast the spell. So that it can be browsed and searched easily, flair your post and give it a title that clearly indicates what users will find when they open it.
But for those of you that bastarda tolerate the weird factor, its very easy to plug these into an existing game because they’re exceedingly rare and can easily be explained as having existed the whole time with minimal suspension of disbelief.

You assumed the page numbers were the same. I love doing stuff like this, being able to share it with an awesome community is just a bonus. So I honestly think you’ve done a pretty good job keeping things varied! There’a already a bunch that have it. Crossbreeding seem to be as inevitable as they are inappropriate. My goal is to provide balanced options for players or for dms to make interesting npcs. The good news for the GM is that all these ELs are nicely summarised in tables at the back of the book along with other charts.

I honestly prefer toc that don’t look fancy that have hyperlinks, when shuffling for content in a large supplement its a lot faster to just click “home” on your keybord and then select what you want to read, and then click home again. However, maps are permitted when they are accompanied by enough detail to easily be used to run a short adventure or are accompanied by enough narrative detail.
