I wasn’t to sure about starting this series because I have seen some bad reviews there is a scene where he slaps her- it didn’t put me offbut yet it was recommended on an Amazon Discussion as favorite books with alphas and hero jealousy. The characters themselves are annoying too.
I hate to say it, but I don’t think she’ll top mine. Aghhh, sometimes I like to shake characters and put some sense in them head. Want to buy more books not happy I like what I bought site won’t let me buy any more books … Show more Show less.

They’re fighters, certainly, but they’re also beauties who are preoccupied with survival and family preservation. Ranulf is an alpha jerk but I couldn’t help but love him. Many side characters to love, equally many to loathe. Lyonene is the most stupid heroine history has ever created…Throughout the book I was pulling my hair like a mad-woman, I fear Beauty Salons will refuse to let me step in their salon let alone re-style my hair… I have read some great reviews about this book but I must say that I am terribly disappointed with this one.
I also liked that at the begining of this book she gives the floor plan of the castle, it was nice to look at when reading what rooms they were in.

The Virgin and the Viscount. A sign of the times, I know, but it was still a standout couple of moments, and not very endearing that he did it so casually. So far he raped her twice, one time while he was drunk and doesn’t even recall it. From the first chapter, I was enthralled with the world and characters the author created.
And Deveraux did her research – she cleverly slips in descriptions of castles and weapons and clothing, but never in a boring or pedantic way.

Now, I’ve never lived in the Dark Ages, but I’m assuming that people had to grow up fast back then, and her uber innocence didn’t feel genuine. Still I loved both the hero and the heroine can’t re This is devetaux first book I’ve read by Jude Deveraux and I really liked it. That’s why Fifty Shades trilogy is also a bad influence to readers.
So much so, that he somewhat rapes his heroine on their wedding night because he doesn’t believe that she is a virgin. But enemy is alert and they didn’t run to far so they hide in a cottage with injured men. Also, the Medieval period detail was to die for as well and is what I live for. Soon I got sidetracked by other books and jide forgot the name of the book.
Moonlight in the Morning. I love how she fights to find the love and connection they had when they first met especially with all obstacles put between them. So much jealousy, so many misunderstandings, such weak-minded characters Women are treated harshly and this is portrayed in the story. For me The Black Lyon was such a book. This is an older written book, I believe ?

Also I think she is sort of pathetic for trying to win him over when he is acting like a complete ass who let me say devetaux one more time HIT HER. Yes he has a heart ache of his late wife but this man is paranoiac in this subject. But vanguard lusted after her and he wait for the birth in cause of his plans for her come true. As it is, the thing I remember most is that the Black Lyon is not shy about abusin I’d been meaning to read this series for-evah, as Jude Deveraux tops a lot of lists for Historical Romance favorites.
