Lewis book, a work so colorful and imaginative and theologically charged that it would win me over completely. He spends more time preaching to the reader through his characters than he spends delivering oerelandra story – you’d think this would make his message clearer, but the actual result is a bad story and watered down arguments and philosophy. The confrontations were pretty impressive in a certain way, and she makes this dramatic tell-all speech to explain that they know what he is and understand that he and the others like him were cast down from the physical heavens and imprisoned on Earth by the older beings for some now unknown and horrible crime.
This is a fairly nice little collection, though, if you’re into that kind of thing.

This trilogy is definitely something different from the most SF books I’ve read. Haldane ‘s Possible Worlds both of wh[ich] seemed to take the idea of such [space] travel seriously and to have the desperately immoral outlook wh[ich] I try to pillory in Weston. In conclusion, That Hideous Strength is an excellent work of both philosophy and science fiction that questions the reader’s ideas.

That Hideous Strength was difficult to get into, but the last third of the book makes it worth it. Sometimes it takes slow epace careful reading to untangle, as the books ponder the mysteries of love, space, time and material.
After reading these three books from January to March, I found myself appreciating sci-fi as a genre in a way I never had before.

Lewis’ thought screams from the pages of this book, as it does from “Out of the Silent Planet” As of this writing, I have yet to read “That Hideous Strength,” but it’s next.
