I think that the major problem for the book is the format. I think a naturalistic explanation of selfhood borders on insanity. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Each chapter is an excerpt from another cogsci-related book, the authors post their notes in the reflections section at the end of each chapter. The idea of a soul, as most conceive of it, is an old idea, and was never meant to be plugged into modern scientific formulas.
