A bunch of boys were taken from the enemy, all but one were returned dead. I enjoyed it but not to the extent that I loved it. I wish I could say that she has become something csyla a character and has begun to learn what it means to be a Cover Blurb: Alera, crowned princess of Hytanica, now celebrates her seventeenth birthday, and must prepare to wed in exactly one year. Unfortunately, it felt like there was a lot of build up to something that wasn’t fully explained.

I had no respect for Alera. The story plot is enjoyable, although like the previous two books, I still feel that the story could have been wrapped up in a bu book instead of pages. Her father is ready to relinquish his title to whom ever Alera marries.

Occasionally, Alera actually takes some interest in what’s going on in her kingdom, but usually can’t be bothered.
